Kolkata, April 21: Top 4 seeds of the Men Singles event makes it to the semi-finals of the
ongoing 18th Central Excise & CGST AITA Men’s Open Tennis Tournament 2021, being held
at the synthetic courts of the Bengal Tennis Association Complex on Wednesday.
Third-seeded Chirag Duhan of Haryana survived a scare in the quarter-finals today as he
managed to come back from a set down to finally drub Yash Chaurasia by a long 1-6,6-2,6-2.
Duhan will be joined by Ishaque Eqbal, Nitin Kr Sinha, and Chinmaya Dev Chauhan in the
last 4.
In the Men’s Doubles category, the top-seeded duo of Ishaque Eqbal and Parikshit Somani
sealed a berth for the finals as they went past Sarthak Sudan and Chirag Duhan, seeded 4, in
the semi-finals held today.
Eqbal and Somani will meet the 3rd seeded pair of Tushar Madan and Yash Chaurasia in
the finals, which will be held tomorrow at 2:30 pm.
Singles semi-finals will be played at 9:30 am tomorrow. (UNI)
