Tokyo Olympics: PV Sindhu storms into semi-finals of women’s singles badminton
Tokyo, Jul 30: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the semi-finals of the women’s singles badminton event at the Tokyo Olympics here Today.
The Rio Olympics silver medalist Sindhu overcame the challenge from Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi, in straight sets 21-13, 22-20 in the quarter-finals of the women’s singles event in just under an hour to book a place in the semi-finals.
The match witnessed a brilliant 54-shot rally.
Sindhu’s opponent in the semi-finals will be decided in the match between Thailand’s Intanon Ratchanok and Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu-Ying(UNI)
