Thane, May 27 : A teenager from the city has shone from among 2,000 participants from India in the International Virtual Karate Championship held recently in Sri Lanka for the age group of 12 to 13 years.
Prachit Shah from Kharkar Ali area of Thane bagged the first place in the competition and became the standard bearer of “Edo-Sri Lanka Virtual Kata Championship 2021”.
Prachit is studying in Thane Police Public School and is undergoing karate training at St John’s School under the guidance of Fraz Sheikh.
He has participated in many national and international competitions, and has also been honored by Thane Municipal Corporation.
Sachin Shinde, Thane District INTUC president, felicitated Prachit on Thursday and wished him well on this occasion.(UNI)
