Chandigarh, Oct 6 : Top seed Shreay Vir and Yana Gupta won the boys and girls singles titles in the CLTA-AITA Championship Series (CS-3) Tennis Tournament for Boys and Birls under-16 at the Sector 10 Tennis Stadium here today.
CLTA trainee top seed Shreay Vir defeated another CLTA player Priyanshu Antil 6-4, 6-1 in straight- sets. In first set, Priyanshu was leading 3-2 up. Shreay Vir bounced back and took the first set 6-4. In the second set, Shreay Vir played in a top form and maintained his rhythm. Shreay Vir returned back every ball. Finally, Shreay Vir won the set and match easily 6-1.
In the girls singles final, top seed Yana Gupta defeated Mehakpreet Kaur in a three-setter marathon match. Yana Gupta lost first set 3-6, but came back strongly in the second and deciding sets and won the game 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
