Punjab University rejoices over its double medal at the Olympics in Paris.
CHANDIGARH JULY 30 : Panjab University (PU) on Monday was in a celebratory mood after two of its students Manu Bhakar and Sarabjot Singh clinched bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed event of the shooting competition at the Paris Olympics.
Bhakar had earlier won the bronze in Women’s 10m Air Pistol event. thereby becoming the first ever Indian woman shooter to finish on the podium in the Olympic Games.
University Vice Chancellor Renu Vig congratulated the two shooters and their family on their remarkable achievement. She also stated that the university always endeavours to provide the best sports facility and environment to the players so that they can bring laurels to the nation.
She also announced that Manu Bhakar and Sarabjot Singh will be honoured in the forthcoming Panjab University convocation. (UNI)
