MUMBAI, JUL 28 : On behalf of the people of Maharashtra and the State Olympics Association, Deputy Chief Minister and MOA president Ajit Pawar congratulated Indian shooter Manu Bhakar for winning India’s first Olympic medal in the women’s 10 metre air pistol event at ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France, on Sunday.
“Indian shooter Manu Bhakar has won India’s first Olympic medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France. The bronze medal won by Manu Bhakar is a good start for the country and this success has raised the hopes of the countrymen,” he said in a press statement.
“I believe that Indian athletes will win more medals in the coming time and Maharashtra will play a major role in that. Manu Bhakar has become the first woman shooter to win a medal in an Olympic event, this is also a special feature of this medal. Congratulations again to Manu Bhakar.
