J&K DYSS hosts events across a range of fields.
JAMMU, MAY 8 : The Department of Youth Services and Sports on Wednesday organised an Inter-School Zonal Level Tournament for Boys Under-14 and Under-17 age categories at Government Higher Secondary School Chowki Choura Zone here.
The competitions were organised in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess, Badminton, Yoga and Wrestling.
The tournament was inaugurated by Principal GHSS Chowki Choura, Satpal Sharma in the presence of ZPEO Chowki Choura and all the field staff of the Zone under the supervision of ZPEO Chowki Choura Nirmal Manhas.
The chief guest encouraged the students towards games and welcomed all the participants in the Zonal level competition.
About 400 players from both government and private institutions participated in the competitions.
Meanwhile in the Bishnah Sports Zone of the district, the Inter-School Tournament for Boys Under U-14 and Under-17 age group was organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Headmistress GHS Chak Murar, Nassem Bano after declaring various games open appreciated the efforts of YSS in channelizing sports talent of the youth. More than six hundred athletes participated in the tourney.
In another sports zone Dansal, a grand Tournament for Boys of Under-14 and Under-17 years age group was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the guidance of Zonal Physical Education officer Dansal. Principal GGMHSS K. Nagrota Sudha Kumari was the Chief Guest on this occasion.(UNI)
