Kolkata, Jun 26 :Joni Kauko, who played for Finland in the current Euro Cup will be seen donning the Green Maroon shirt for ATK MB in the next season to play the Indian Super League in India.
” ATK MB made an agreement with him on Thursday,” said a club statement.
” Many star footballers have played in the Indian Super League but it is rare for a footballer to sign a contract with an Indian club within three days of playing in the Euro Cup,” the statement added.
Thirty-year-old Joni Kauko is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder representing Finland national team.
He has been seen playing in that position in the jersey of Finland in all three matches of this year’s Euro Cup group league.
He had played for the last three seasons at the Danish club Esbjerg. Kauko also has several goals in club football.
ATK Mohun Bagan will have to play the AFC Cup within a few days. After adding Kauko, the strength of Antonio Lopez Habas’ team’s midfield will increase.
