ISTANBUL, April 26 (Xinhua): Sorana Cirstea of Romania defeated top-seeded Elise Mertens of Belgium 6-1, 7-6 (3) in the final of the Istanbul clay court tournament on Sunday to win her second career title.
The 31-year-old grabbed her maiden title at Tashkent in 2008.

“I’m very, very happy for this trophy. I did not expect it, to be honest,” Cirstea said at the winner’s ceremony.

Cirstea, the world number 67, is now 3-0 in her career against Mertens, ranked 17 in the world.(UNI)
