MUMBAI, DEC 9   :   Providing a major update on Rahul Dravid’s renewed duration of contract as Team India Head Coach, BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah on Saturday said a decision will be made in this regard after India’s tour to South Africa.

“Length of Rahul Dravid’s tenure as India head coach will be decided after the team returns from South Africa,” Shah told reporters on the sidelines of 2024 Women’s Premier League Auction.

Dravid’s contract was renewed, but the BCCI did not disclose the duration of the contract extension. The premier cricketing body gave Dravid the extension even after India lost the finals of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

India is yet to win a major ICC trophy under the aegis of Dravid. On November 29, the BCCI extended his contract among others, including coaches for Vikram Rathour (batting), Paras Mhambrey (bowling) and T Dilip (fielding).
Team India already have reached South Africa for a multi-format series where they will play three-match T20I series, a three-match ODI series, and a two-match Test series.

In their last tour to the Rainbow Nation in 2022, India lost the Test series, and will be hoping to turn the tables in their favour in this tour(UNI)
