BENGALURU, APRIL 18   :    The 16th edition of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) World 10K Bengaluru scheduled for April 28, is set to be a highlight on the city’s sporting calendar, with a stellar lineup of Indian and International athletes confirmed for the event.

With a prize purse of USD 210,000, the race promises high stakes and fierce competition.
Defending champion Tamshi Singh and two-time champion Sanjivani Jadhav are expected to lead the charge in the Indian elite women’s category. Their impressive track records make them the ones to watch on race day.

Adding to the event’s prestige is the participation of Valerie Adams, a legendary figure in athletics. With four World Championship titles and two Olympic medals, Adams will serve as the International Event Ambassador, inspiring participants with her illustrious career.

The event will feature an exciting new route that highlights Bengaluru’s iconic landmarks, including Ulsoor Lake, Chinnaswamy Stadium, High Court, and Vidhana Soudha. This route offers runners a chance to experience the city’s rich culture and heritage while tackling a challenging course.

The Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw Parade Ground will serve as the event’s new home, providing an iconic setting for the start and finish of the race. With support from the Indian Army’s Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, the venue promises to enhance the race experience for participants and spectators alike.

Anticipation is building with over 30,000 runners expected to participate across both on-ground and virtual categories. The marathon is scheduled for Sunday, with 28,000 runners gathering at Cubbon Road and an additional 1500+ joining virtually via the TCS World 10K Bengaluru event App.

The event emphasizes sustainability and community engagement, with VIDA, powered by Hero, as the Electric Two-Wheeler Partner, promoting eco-friendly transportation. ASICS is the official ‘Sports Goods Partner,’ rewarding top finishers with exclusive TCS World 10K Bengaluru Finisher Tees.

Bisleri, the Hydration Partner, has introduced limited-edition bottles featuring elite women runners, celebrating their achievements and promoting hydration among participants.

The post-finish zone will come alive with musical performances by Saregama Artists, adding to the festive atmosphere and allowing runners and spectators to celebrate their achievements together.

The Mirchi Get Active Expo will run from April 25 to April 27 at the Royal Senate, where registered participants can collect race bibs, attend meetups, and avail of special offers from leading brands.

The event has received strong support from governmental bodies and organizations, including the Government of Karnataka Dept. of Youth Empowerment & Sports, Bengaluru Police, and Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike.
