India Women’s Hockey Wins Asian Championship
RAJGIR, NOV 20 : Pleased with the grand victory of the Indian hockey team which won the Women Asian Championship 2024 by defeating China, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to each player of the Indian team.
Lauding the performance of the Indian women hockey team at Rajgir hockey stadium, Kumar said here on Wednesday that the team has added a feather in the cap of Indian hockey. He said that the women players exhibited their hard labour and discipline on the ground.
Kumar also announced the reward of Rs 10 lakh to the chief coach of the team Harendra Singh and Rs 5 lakh to every sports staff member.
Meanwhile the Hockey India also announced Rs 3 lakh reward to every player of the victorious Indian women hockey team and Rs 1.5 Lakh to every sports staff member.
For the first time, the Asian Hockey Federation too announced cash rewards for teams finishing on the podium. India will get 10,000 US dollars, China 7,000 and Japan 5,000 US dollars as reward.
As it is the Indian women’s hockey team defeated China by 1-0 and defended the Women’s Asian Championship Trophy 2024 at the international stadium in Rajgir of Nalanda district.
