BENGALURU, NOV 23 :   In a low-scoring affair, Abdul Basith 60 helped Kerala chase down 186 runs target set by Saurashtra in the Group A match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Alur KSCA Stadium here on Thursday.
Sanju Samson scored 30 as he gave Basith good company in the chase.
Batting first, Saurashtra were bowled out for 185 in 49.1 overs. At one stage, they were 65/7 in 23.3 overs, but Vishvaraj Jadeja scored a fighting 98 off 121 balls with five boundaries and as many sixes.

He also sticted a 69 runs partnership for 8th wicket to bring some respectability to Saurastra’s total.
Akhin Sathar was star bowler for Kerala as he bagged 4/39, and Shreyas Gopal and Basil Tahmpi claiming two wickets each. Akhil Scaria and Nedumankuzhy Basil picked up two wickets.

In yet another low-scoring game at Alur, Mumbai defeated Sikkim by 7 wickets. Tushar Deshpande terrorised Sikkim batsmen, snapping up three wickets for 19 runs in seven overs.
Mohit Avasthi (2/9) and Ankolekar (2/13) also chipped along with seasoned spinner Shams Mulani who picked a wicket for 18, to skittle Sikkim to 89 in 38.1 overs.

Mumbai chased down the target in just 12 overs after Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Jay Gokul Bisla scored 30 and 28 runs in 28 and 22 balls, respectively. Both smacked four boundaries each, and a six by Bisla
In another match at Alur, Fabid Ahmed’s allround efforts helped Puducherry efeat Railways by 22 overs.
Fabid made a match-winning 64 off 77 balls with four boundaries and a six after the top six batsmen could manage only 67 but after losing six wickets in 26.5 overs.
In reply, Fabid picked two wickets as Railways fell short by 22.
In another match played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Odisha overhauled Tripura by 4 wickets.
Odisha veteran and allrounder Biplab Samantray claimed five wickets for 32 in 6 overs, and then crunched 29 off 41 balls with 4 boundaries to guide his side to a win.(UNI)
