India to play two warmups before taking on Pak in T20 WC
Dubai, Oct 16 : Although the Indian players got sufficient game time playing for their respective franchises in the IPL, they did not have any time to play as a unit during this time.
The warmup matches could well help India to get back to their rythm, playing as one unit, before they take on arch rivals Pakistan on October 24 in the group stage.
India will play their first warm up match against England on October 18 in Dubai, while the second match will be played against Australia on October 20 at the same venue.
The match against England will start from 7:30 pm IST and from 3.30 pm IST against Australia. The matches will be streamed live on Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar.
The mega event was scheduled to be hosted by India but due to the Corona pandemic, it was shifted to UAE and Oman. However, India are still the hosts of this extravagant tournament, which is making a comeback after a gap of five years.
The last tournament was held in 2016 in which West Indies emerged as the World champions.
The tournament will get underway on October 17 and will culminate with the title clash in November in Dubai. (UNI)
