Kolhapur, April 21: A 25-year-old young man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his house, within minutes after posting a sad poem on his personal mobile status, at Nandgaon village in Karveer tehsil of the district on Wednesday.
After working in the farm from the morning till afternoon, the youth along with his father went home for lunch. However, outside their home, he asked his father to go in while he would attend to some other work at their cattle shed and join him.
But, the youth committed suicide by hanging himself from the tree near the cattle shed, police said.
Before taking the extreme step, he posted some lines from the sad poem on his mobile status and ended his life.
After waiting for some time, his father called him but upon not getting any reply, he rushed to the cattle shed where he saw his son hanging from the tree.
Following which, he informed about incident to the Ispurli police station.
The deceased was identified as Uttam Umaji Shinde, resident of Nandgaon village, who also repaired gas stove for living.
The cause of suicide has yet to be ascertained, sources said, adding, further investigation is on.(UNI)
