Hyderabad, Sep 17 : Former TPCC President and MP Capt Uttam has criticized the state government for negligence in maintaining Nagarjunasagar left canal in Nagarjunasagar (NS) Constituency.

Uttam who visited the major breach in Nagarjunasagar left canal in NS constituency on Saturday criticised the government for negligence in maintaining NS canals leading to major breach of Left canal.

He demanded that the breach repair work be completed on war footing, else NS ayacut standing crop of 6.3 Lakh acres will be lost.

Farmers at the site also complained to the MP that due to breach, NS water is not coming and electricity for agriculture is only coming in spells for 8 hours, & government is advertising that they are giving for 24 hours. The MP said he would take up the matter.

The MP also demanded immediate payment of Compensation for inundated Agri fields and houses during the breach.(UNI)
