Lucknow, Jun 12 : Uttar Pradesh reported 524 fresh COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours, raising the state’s active caseload to 9,806.

The state also registered 1,757 recoveries in the past day, three times more than the fresh cases recorded in the same duration.

Among the 9,806 active cases, 5,893 people are in home isolation.

Additional chief secretary information Navneet Sehgal said here on Saturday that the recovery rate of Covid patients was 98.1 per cent.

On Friday, he said that 2.74 lakh sample tests were done and till now the state has done 5.30 crore tests, highest in the country .

More than 70,000 surveillance teams were working in the state to detect COVID-19 patients by visiting house to house, Mr Sehgal said.

As many as 4,61,412 people were vaccinated yesterday in UP and now total number of vaccination in the state has gone up to 2,24,68,959, he added.(UNI)
