Lucknow, May 28 : Altogether 2,402 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh during the past 24 hours while 159 more people died in the same time, a health bulletin said here Today.

As many as 8,135 patients also recovered in the past day, taking the recovery rate to 95.7 per cent. The number of active cases in the state has also fallen to 52,244 while the daily test positivity rate (TPR) has come down to 0.67 per cent.

The fresh cases came from 3,58,407 COVID-19 tests conducted in the past day, of which nearly 1.50 lakh were RT-PCR ones.

In an encouraging sign, two districts in UP reported no fresh COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours while nearly 16 districts reported only single-digit new cases, state additional chief secretary health Amit Mohan Prasad said here.(UNI)
