UP: New commissioners are in place in Ghaziabad, Agra, and Prayagraj after 16 IPS officers were transferred.
LUCKNOW, 29 NOV: An official spokesman said here on Tuesday that the Uttar Pradesh government has relocated 16 members of the Indian Police Service (IPS), including two police commissioners, and had nominated police commissioners in the newly established Agra, Prayagraj, and Ghaziabad Commissionerates.
ADG Ashok Mutha Jain, who was on the waitlist, has been appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Varanasi, according to an order that was issued late on Monday night, the spokesman said.
Alok Singh and Satish Ganesh, the police commissioners for Gautam Buddha Nagar and Varanasi, respectively, have been relocated and appointed as ADGs at the DGP headquarters. Laxmi Singh, a former IG of Lucknow, has been appointed as the next police chief of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
The newly established Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate has appointed IG Ajay Mishra, who was on the waitlist, as Police Commissioner. Similarly, IG Bareilly Ramit Sharma was named as Police Commissioner Prayagraj, while IG Prison Dr. Pritinder Singh was posted as Police Commissioner of the recently established Agra Police Commissionerate.
Tarun Gaba, the secretary for the home, has been promoted to IG in Lucknow. Dr. Rakesh Singh, the IG of Prayagraj, has been assigned to the Bareilly zone in the same position. Chandra Prakash II, IG Special Security Force (SSF), Lucknow, has been moved to the Prayagraj zone in the same position.
Muniraj G, a senior superintendent of police (SSP) in Ghaziabad, has been assigned to be the SSP in Ayodhya. Prashant Verma, who has been transferred to SP Bahraich, will be replaced by him. As Additional Police Commissioner in Agra, Keshav Kumar Chaudhary SP Bahraich has been assigned.
The same position of SSP Prayagraj Shailesh Pandey has been shifted to Mathura. Abhishek Yadav, SSP Mathura, has been promoted to SP Intelligence Headquarters, Lucknow. Prabhakar Chaudhary, an SSP in Agra, has been promoted as Commandant of the 11th battalion PAC, Sitapur.(PHN)
