Union Health Ministry sanctions CGHS center in Aurangabad
Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Jul 12: The Central Government Sponsored Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) wellness center at Aurangabad, the capital of the Marathwada region, has finally received approval from the union health ministry.
Former Shiv Sena MP and party leader Chandrakant Khaire had repeatedly approached the Center for setting up the CGHS here.
Mr. Khaire also took up the matter to asked CM and Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray, then Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan had followed up with Amitabh Kant, CEO of the Niti Aayog.
With the cooperation of all these, this center is being started in the service of Aurangabad, said Mr. Khaire.
He further said that there are CGHS centers in four places across Maharashtra. There was a great need here as people had to go to Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur for treatment.
The district has a large number of central employees, ex-servicemen, independent soldiers, defense department employees, retired salaried employees, etc.
Therefore, Mr. Khaire thanked the Central Government for approving this center at Aurangabad. As a result, thousands of central employees and senior citizens will no longer have to travel 200 to 400 km for treatment, he said.
The citizens of the Aurangabad district thanked Mr. Khaire for following up on this. The CGHS will facilitate corona tests, treatment, and diagnosis along with daily treatment in the district, he added. (UNI)
