CHENNAI, DEC 27    :    Two notorious rowdies were killed in an encounterwith the police on Wednesday.
Police soures the two history-sheeters attacked a police team when theywere tried to be arrested by thespecial team in connection with a murdercase when the cops opened fire in self defence.
The two rowdies were killed on the spot.

They were identified as Ragu and Hassan, alias ‘Karuppu’ Hassan, whowere allegedly involved in the murder of another history-sheeter Saravanan
alias Prabakar of VOC street, Kancheepuram.

Saravanan had more than 40 criminal cases for murder and other offences.
Saravanan was murdered last evening near his house by an armed gangdue to previous enmity.

In retaliation, his supporters informed the police about the whereaboutsof the killers. When the police surrounded them and tried to arrest them,
they attacked the cops who then opened fire in self defence killing two ofthem on the spot.

The injured duo were rushed to the Government General Hospital, Kancheepuram
where the doctors who declared them brought dead.

Kancheepuram district and police officials visited the spot and conducted enquiries.(UNI)
