Mirzapur, Mar 1 : Two people died while receiving treatment after consuming illicit liquor in the Dehat Kotwali area here, police sources said today.
The District administration took the matter into cognizance and has ordered an investigation into the incident.
Two youths in the Nevadhiya village of the Dehat Kotwali area consumed liquor containing chemicals on Sunday.
However, their condition started deteriorating after consuming alcohol. They were admitted to the CHC where both of them died while undergoing treatment on Sunday night.
Their families said that the duo had bought the liquor from a shop near the village and their health started worsening after drinking it.
Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. (UNI)
