Two-day mega vaccination Mela witnesses heavy rush in Srinagar
Srinagar, Jul 12:A two-day mega vaccination mela from Monday witnessed a heavy rush in the summer capital, Srinagar, where 53 fresh COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Sunday.
‘We are inching closer to achieve 100 percent coverage of the plus 45-year population, the authorities claimed and said administration feels confident to combat the possible third wave.
The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Srinagar organized a two-day mega vaccination mela from today at Pantha Chowk near the police station, Aali Masjid in the downtown, Old Bus stand Batmaloo opposite police station, Barbar Shah near here in the city, New Bus Stand Parimpora and Harwan Garden near the main gate.
An official spokesman said healthy turnout at all the vaccination sites was witnessed on the first day today. The camps will continue tomorrow also, he said.
The administration said the world’s largest vaccination drive is making significant progress. ‘Remember, vaccines are our strongest weapon against COVID. To strengthen India’s fight, get vaccinated, it said.
‘Please don’t miss your jab. COVID is not fun, get your vaccination done,’ the DDMA said. (UNI)
