HYDERABAD, DEC 22   :   Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is set to enhance its services with the introduction of 200 new diesel buses by Sankranti, aiming to provide enhanced convenience for passengers.

The TSRTC is finalizing plans to launch the first batch of 50 buses within a week with the support of the state government. These additions are part of TSRTC’s commitment to offering improved and comfortable travel experiences for the public, a TSRTC statement said.

TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar personally inspected the new Lahari sleeper-cum-seater, Rajdhani AC, and express buses at the Bus Bhawan premises in Hyderabad on Friday.

During the inspection, officials were queried about the facilities provided to passengers, and numerous suggestions were discussed. Mahalakshmi, a directive was issued to expedite the availability of buses, given the increase in passenger traffic due to the implementation of the free bus travel facility scheme for women.

MD VC Sajjanar stated, “The TSRTC management has decided to procure new buses to enhance the quality of services for passengers. As part of this initiative, more than 2,000 new buses will be introduced within the next four to five months. This includes 400 Express, 512 Palle Luvam, 92 Lahari sleeper-cum-seater, and 56 AC Rajdhani buses. Regarding electric vehicles, the management plans to deploy 540 buses in Hyderabad city and 500 in other parts of Telangana, all set to be operational by the end of March next year.”

He highlighted that these new buses are equipped with various facilities to ensure a better and more quality travel experience for passengers. LED boards have been installed to display destination details, and the Fire Detection Suppression System (FDSS) has been integrated for the early detection and prevention of fire accidents.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr. V Ravinder, Executive Director Krishnakanth, CME Raghunatha Rao, CTM Jeevan Prasad, and others participated in the inspection.(UNI)
