TRS govt is responsible for present Covid-19 situation in State: Cong

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) Congress Floor Leader in the State Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday claimed that the TRS-led Telangana government was responsible for the present worst Coronavirus situation in the state.
Talking to reporters here, Batti said State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not take any measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 despite several suggestions made by the Congress.
He demanded the government to utilize school buildings, guest houses as isolation centres in the state mainly in the rural areas in the state for the benefit of Covid patients.
Even the Telangana High Court had taken a serious view of municipal elections being held amidst a surge in Covid-19 cases, but the CM gave a green signal to the election commission to go ahead with the polls following which hundreds of people including political leaders affected with the virus in Urban local bodies, the Congress leader pointed out.
The CM should at least now set up an IAS officer-led committee in all districts in the state and an Apex committee at the state-level to control the spread of the dreaded virus, said Bhatti.
He demanded the government to include Covid-19 treatment in the Aarogyasri scheme for the benefit of the poor patients.
Bhatti earlier had demanded that the state government should impose a 15-day lockdown to check the spread of the infection.
Meanwhile, the state Cabinet in the afternoon announced a 10-day lockdown starting from 10 am on May 12 with a relaxation of four hours between 6 am to 10 am for the people for their general activities and needs.(uni)
