TRS government has no moral right to sell government lands in state : TPCC

Hyderabad, Jun 1 : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) member G Niranjan said that the TRS Government has no moral right to sell the government lands in the state.
In a media statement here Today, Mr Niranjan said the state government is a custodian to preserve and protect these lands for the use of future generations.
What the TRS government desires is to leave for future generations by selling the government lands now itself?.
Stating that the present TRS rulers should know that they are elected with a responsibility to protect these lands but not to sell, Mr Niranajan, also the AICC member said, they (TRS Government) have no right to sell.
“As the assignee is having a right to enjoy the assigned land and not having any right to sell it, similarly the State Government is only having the right to enjoy but no right to sell it “, the Congress leader said as the Housing Board itself was formed to construct and provide houses to the common man, how can the state government sell its lands?
The TPCC member said the state government is unable to provide double bedrooms to the people as assured on the pretext that the vacant lands are not available, but now resorting to selling lands, shows its apathy towards its commitments and betrayal attitude.
The AICC member said, “ It is to be noted that recently the TRS government expelled Etela Rajender from the Ministry because he is in illegal occupation of government, temple and assigned lands and cases were booked against him and enquiry is underway.
Now resorting to selling the lands which come under the above-said category, is it to protect their loyalists or to entrust the valuable lands to their henchmen under the cover of auction, Mr Niranjan asked.
It is unfortunate that immediately after a decision in the state cabinet to sell Government and Endowment lands, the Chief Secretary had swung into action and convened a meeting of concerned department officials to ascertain the available lands for sale.
Why this situation arose in Bangaru Telangana? Our state was known as surplus State, then where that surplus had gone?
The economic policies of TRS, lavish and excessive expenditure without foresight is responsible for the present situation, he said.
Though it is a fact that Corona affected the state income but it is not upright on the part of the State Government to sell the prime lands at the cost of future generations”, he said and added that the Government should withdraw this proposal immediately to do justice to the coming generations.(UNI)
