Tope warns Pvt hospitals against a demanding deposit from Covid patients

Jalna, April 6: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has warned private hospitals against seeking deposits for COVID treatment.
Mr. Tope who is also the Guardian Minister of Jalna district was here last evening to attend a review meeting on Covid measures taken by the administration.
He said that numerous complaints have surfaced against private hospitals for demanding a deposit of Rs 50,000 for the treatment of Covid patients.
“This is an unforgivable crime and immediate action will be taken against such hospitals,” he said.
Meanwhile, the chief minister and the medical education minister will fully consider the demands made by the resident doctors’ association, but the union should be aware that this is not the time to go on strike, Mr. Tope added. (UNI)
