TMC Mamata Banerjee to release party manifesto for 2021 Assembly polls today
Kolkata, Mar 17 : All India Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata
Banerjee on Wednesday scheduled to
release party manifesto or election promises for 2021 West Bengal
assembly polls, which are starting from March 27.
Earlier, the ruling party postponed the release of election manifesto
for at least twice due to injury to the chief minister Mamata
Banerjee last week.
The TMC supremo, seeking into the chief ministerial office for the
time in a row since 2011, is expected to address a media conference
before releasing the party manifesto from her Kalighat office in south
Kolkata in the afternoon.
Earlier,the chief minister had released at of 291 candidates on March
5 for West Bengal’s eight-phase elections beginning from March 27.
The counting for 294 seats to be held on May 2.
The TMC left three seats for its ally GJM’s Bimal Gurung faction in
Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong.
Meanwhile, the TMC supreme leader on Tuesday received a stern message
from the Election Commission of India,
which warned that that it was not proper to belittle the institution
by calling it as being close to a party.
The EC asserted that it would not like to be repeatedly “put in the
dock” with innuendos and averments.(UNI)
