T’langana CM suggests centre to identify the fast virus spreaders

Hyderabad, May 9 : Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao , on Sunday night suggested the centre to identify the fast spreaders of the Coronavirus and they be administered the vaccine first.

Mr Rao, who spoke with Union Medical and health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhand during a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on the prevailing Covid situation in the state, made some valuable suggestions to him on certain measures to be taken to contain the virus spread.

The CM said vaccine guidelines should be relaxed so that the cab drivers, auto drivers, conductors, boys supplying the LPG gas cylinders, and those workers who go to places to do their daily jobs should be brought under a special category and be vaccinated.

After the review meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi , who spoke to Mr Rao over phone, said that “Your suggestions are good and we will implement them. I thank you for the good suggestions,” Modi told the Telangana CM .

The CM had urged the PM to supply more Oxygen and Remdesivir injections to the State.

The PM positively responded to the CM’s request and also assured that immediate action would be taken on the requests.

The CM has decided that 5 Kgs of rice per person for two months would be distributed free for all the white ration card holders in the state.

The CM also decided that with the backdrop of giving Rs 2000 per month and 25 Kgs of rice to the 1.20 Lakh private teachers in the state, another 80,000 private teachers would also be given the same benefit.

The CM issued instructions in this regard to the officials concerned.(UNI)
