Three arrested on charges of murder
Thane, Sep 16 : The Kalyan police arrested three persons on charges of brutal killing of a 47 year old mechanical engineer.
Divulging details regarding the case on Wednesday the Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone III Kalyan- Vivek Pansare told newsmen that the police also detained a juvenile in the crime.
He said that the police on patrolling duty on September, 11 at 11.55 noon found Krishnamohan Ramsagar Tiwari, 47, lying in a severly wounded state on the Khambalpada road.
The police rushed him to the local hospital and as his condition became serious he was shifted to the Sion hospital where he died on September 13. Following his death the Manpada police registered a case under section 302 of the IPC against the accused.
The police while probing the case were informed that the victim was working in Qatar and lost his job in lockdown and came to India in search of a job.
The daughter of the victim informed the police that the victim got a phone call and he went out on September 11, and never returned home.
The accused, who ran a placement services called him to Kalyan where the accused robbed him and then attacked him, said the police.
The police officer gave the names of the arrested as Rihan Bashir Shaikh, Sagar Chandramouli Ponnalla, and Sumit Chintaman Sonawane ( rickshaw driver). The victim was taken in the rickshaw of Sumit where the accused killed him and dumped his body.
The local police are carriying out further probe into the crime.(UNI)
