AGRA (UP), JULY 31 : Security agencies have become alert after receiving threats to blow up the airport and Cantt railway station in Agra, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that a threatening email was received in the Director General of Police control room, after which The Agra Commissionerate was informed. “The police immediately started investigating and a case was registered against unknown persons in Shahganj police station. Security of Agra airport and Cantt railway station has been beefed up,” they said.

According to the information, it is written in the email, “On August 3, I am going to place 50 kg of RDX at the Air Force Station that is . airport in Agra. After that, I will blast at Agra Cantt railway station. If any policeman has the courage, then try to stop me. I openly challenge the police.”

The ATS and STF have started investigating the email. Shahganj police station in-charge inspector Kushal Pal Singh says that information about the threat was received from the police headquarters through email. The headquarters also sent an email. After investigating this email, a case was registered against the unknown person in Shahganj police station, he said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Suraj Rai told the media that special security arrangements have been made at both the Airport Station and Cantt Railway Station. After the email, RPF and GRP were seen checking passengers with a dog squad at Agra Cantt Railway Station and other stations.(UNI)
