The weather satellite INSAT-3DS is successfully launched into orbit by GSLV-F14 in a critical mission.
SRIHARIKOTA (ANDHRA PRADESH), FEB 17 : In a crucial and significant mission, India’s heavy rocket
GeoSynchronous Launch Vehicle GSLV-F14 successfully injected ther 2,274 kg INSAT-3DS, a
meteorological and disaster warning satellite into the desired orbit on Saturday evening.
After a smooth 27.5 hr countdown, the 51.7 m tall vehicle, with a lift off mass of 420 tonnes,
took off majestically from the Second Launch Pad at 1735 hrs from the SHAR-Range her and after a flight duration of 19 minutes successfully injected the Satellite into the orbit.(UNI)
