The unknown disease kills dozens of cows in the suburbs of Kangra
Kangra, Sep 23: Domestic cows in dozens died due to unknown disease in Suburbs of Kangra, and in this connection, a delegation of village Panchayat Mataur called on Kangra MLA Pawan Kajal under the chairmanship of Panchayat Pradhan Captain Nirmal Singh.
Pawan Kajal said that the villagers alleged that the disease of the cow is spreading fast in the panchayat unabated, but despite complaining several times to the officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, no action was taken. Captain Nirmal Singh said that in Mataur gram panchayat alone more than 10 cows have died due to this unknown disease.
They said that most of the farmers in these panchayats depend on animal husbandry and the sale of milk as their source of economic income but due to unknown diseases, the farmers are suffering a lot. The delegation submitted a memorandum to MLA Pawan Kajal and demanded that the state government should instruct the officers of the Animal Husbandry Department, to carry out a survey of the afflicted animals in these rural areas along with the provision of vaccines and medicines.
MLA Pawan Kajal, talking to the Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department, assured the villagers that within a day or two, a team of doctors of Animal Husbandry Department will visit village to village to investigate the unknown disease spreading in a milch cow in Kangra assembly constituency.
Kajal said that the provision of medicines and vaccines would be made by the Animal Husbandry Department for the treatment of the suffering cow. Kajal assured the villagers that he would try to get financial assistance from the state government for the farmers whose milch cow died due to this disease so that the farmers continue to have their livelihood. On this occasion, Captain Nirmal Singh Pradhan Mataur, Vice President Sanjeev Kumar Kaka, Sudarshan Kumar, Sridhar, Baldev Raj, Kashmiri Lal, Ravindra Kumar, Suman, Samangala, Meera, Sadhna, Rajni, Nirmala, Aruna, Reshma, Jyoti, Praveen, and Anu were also present.
