VISAKHAPATNAM, MAR 15   :    Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Chairperson Dr M. Angamuthu inaugurated the redesigned Sea Horse structure here on Friday.

The structure which was dilapidated, duly beautified the area with Water Fountain and lighting with a cost of Rs.2.23 crores, the port said in a release here.

Angamuthu also inaugurated the “Manthan Hall” situated in Administrative Office Building of VPA.
The Port , which has taken a challenge to develop Port as Green Port from 2023 onwards, is implementing Greenery and Beautification projects in and around VPA premises of Visakhapatnam City to provide green and clean environment to Vizagites.

VPA, hand in hand with the District Administration is developing Entrance Arch with side islands beautification at Sea Horse junction and also developing soft scape all alongside islands of road from sea horse junction to Port Administrative Office.

Briefing the Media on the occasion, Angamuthu informed that VPA is committed to develop all the interface areas of Vizag Port in coordination with District Administration.

He stated that VPA is planning to develop mangroves from Bheemili to Port area to eradicate beach erosion.

VPA is extending its hand under CSR to the District and local administration for the development and beautification of the city, the VPA Chairperson added.

District Collector A. Mallikarjuna, GVMC Additional Commissioner Viswanathan and VPA Deputy Chairperson Durgesh Kumar Dubey graced the occasion.(UNI)
