Thane: 2 co-owners of company booked for negligence leading to worker’s death

Thane, Jul 4 : The Bhiwandi police have registered criminal offences against two sizing company owners following the death of a worker, police said Today.

Talking to UNI, senior Inspector Shankar Indalkar of the Bhoiwada police said it was on June 18 at around 0500 hrs the victim Mohammad Shamsuddin Alikaran Khan, 40, was proceeding to answer nature’s call.
Midway he slipped and fell in the tank situated between the Moulana Sizing and Nabiullah Sizing in the town and got severely burnt.

He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on June 26. Following his death, the police carried out a probe and on Saturday registered the present offence under relevant IPC sections.
No arrest has been made so far in connection with the incident.

The police gave the names of the two sizing unit owners as Irfan Zahiruddin Khan, 40 and Naseem Naviullah Akhtar, 45.

According to the police, the negligence on the part of the duo in protecting the hot water tank led to the mishap. Further probe is on.(UNI)
