NALGONDA (TELANGANA), JULY 13 :  Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will soon introduce AC buses to all district headquarters in the state.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating three AC Deluxe non-stop buses between Nalgonda and Hyderabad, along with Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy here on Saturday, Prabhakar stated that the TGSRTC had already purchased 1,000 new buses and placed orders for an additional 1,500 buses.

Before the Dussehra festival, the TGSRTC will allocate 30 Express and 30 luxury buses to Nalgonda. He mentioned that the number of buses will be increased based on passenger demand.

The Telangana government is addressing the issues of TGSRTC employees. The government has sanctioned a 21 per cent DA increase. Out of the Rs 280 crore debt, the government has cleared Rs 80 crore, and the remaining Rs 200 crore will be cleared by the end of this month.

The government has also taken the initiative to fill 3,035 TGSRTC vacancies.Prabhakar stated that the TGSRTC will operate a luxury bus from every Assembly constituency and AC buses from district headquarters.Komatireddy Venkat Reddy highlighted that, in line with Congress’s promise, the government is implementing the Mahalakshmi scheme (free bus travel for women) in the state.

He mentioned that new buses will soon be allocated to Nalgonda and urged the Transport Minister to allocate 100 new buses to the district.(UNI)
