Tension at Hyderabad Assembly as BRS MLAs, MLCs Protest
HYDERABAD, DEC 9 :A tense situation arose at the Assembly premises on Monday when BRS MLAs and MLCs were stopped by security personnel at the Assembly gate.
The security personnel objected to the BRS representatives wearing T-shirts featuring photos of Adani and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, sparking a heated argument. KTR, one of the leaders, questioned the rationale behind the restrictions.
Led by KTR, Harish Rao, and others, the BRS representatives raised slogans against the government, protesting their denial of entry into the Assembly and Council.
The protest centred on what the BRS leaders described as the “Dostana” (friendship) between Revanth Reddy and Adani. They shouted slogans such as “Revanth-Adani Bhai Bhai,” “Wrestling in Delhi, Friendship in the Streets,” and “Telangana Thalli is ours, Congress Thalli is Yours.” They also criticised the alleged removal of Bathukamma and her symbolic “hand mark.”
Amid the escalating tension, police intervened, detained the protesting leaders, and moved them away from the site.
Earlier, before arriving at the Assembly, the BRS leaders paid tribute to the martyrs at Gunpark. They observed two minutes of silence and sang songs honouring the heroes, chanting, “Johar to the martyrs, Johar to the heroes.”
