Telangana Talli Statue Reflects Aspirations: Dy CM
HYDERABAD, DEC 9 : Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu highlighted the cultural and emotional significance of the Telangana Talli statue, which was discussed during Monday’s Assembly session.
He criticised BRS MLAs for staying away from the session, stating that their absence reflects “love and hatred for power” and indifference toward Telangana’s legacy.
Speaking on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s announcement regarding the unveiling of the Telangana Talli statue, the Deputy CM expressed disappointment over the absence of key BRS leaders, including KTR and Harish Rao, in the Assembly.
He remarked that their participation would have been an opportunity to share their views, irrespective of political differences.
Bhatti recalled a similar moment on December 13, 2014, when the Assembly unanimously expressed gratitude to Sonia Gandhi for her decisive role in the formation of Telangana.
He emphasized that Sonia Gandhi’s announcement of Telangana’s formation, coinciding with her birthday, had turned the dreams of Telangana martyrs into reality. He urged all members to honor her contribution and celebrate December 9 as a state festival annually.
Describing the statue, Bhatti praised its design, which symbolizes the spirit and resilience of Telangana. He noted that the green saree represents agricultural prosperity, while the fists on the pedestal signify resistance to oppression.
The red elements reflect progressive movements, and the hand of the mother represents blessings for the people. He emphasized that the statue embodies the aspirations, struggles, and self-respect of Telangana’s four crore citizens.
Bhatti also lauded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for ensuring the successful installation of the statue after incorporating diverse perspectives. He proposed that the state officially recognize December 9 as the “Telangana Talli Festival” and issue a gazette notification to commemorate the occasion every year, similar to other national celebrations like August 15 and January 26.
