Telangana sees 313 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Thursday night

Hyderabad, Mar 19:With a daily increase of 313 fresh Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Thursday, Telangana’s cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,02,360 so far.

The state recorded two fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,664 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Friday.

A total of 142 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to push the overall recoveries thus far to 2,98,262 constituting a recovery rate of 98.64 per cent while the National recovery rate was 96.2 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state now stand at 2,434 including 943 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

About 62,972 swab samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out and of which the reports of 642 swab samples are awaited.

More than 94.82 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

The worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported a maximum of 47 new Coronavirus cases followed by Rangareddy district (29), Nirmal district (25) and Medchal Malkajigiri district (20).

The remaining COVID-19 cases were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(uni)
