Telangana sees 204 fresh C OVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Monday night
Hyderabad, Mar 16 : With a daily increase of 204 coronavirus positive cases, Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 cases has risen to 3,01,522 so far.
Two people lost their life to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the overall fatalities as of Monday to 1,656 translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin Today.
As many as 170 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the last 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to date to 2,.97,851 constituting a recovery rate of 98.78 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.6 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 2,015 including 624 individuals in the home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
During the last 24 hours, 60,263 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 439 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, about 93 lakhs of COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
The worst-hit Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributed a maximum of 37 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (14) and Rangareddy (12).
The remaining coronavirus cases of the day were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
