Hyderabad, Mar 10 :The number of new daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Telangana has reached 3,00,342 to date with 189 coronavirus infections being reported in the state until 2000 hours on Tuesday.

The state recorded two fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the death toll so far to 1,646 translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Wednesday.

A total of 176 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries as of Tuesday to 2,96,916 constituting a recovery rate of 98.85 per cent while the national recovery rate was 96.80 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 1,780 including 693 individuals in the home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

During the last 24 hours,39,000 samples were tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 578 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, more than 90.50 lakhs of COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state thus far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. (UNI)
