Hyderabad, Jun 9 : As many as 1813 fresh Covid-19 cases were recorded in Telangana until 1730 hours Today, taking the daily count of positive cases to 5,96,813.

The state recorded 17 fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the overall death toll to 3426 translating a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.2 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

A total of 1801 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours, pushing the cumulative recoveries so far to 5,69,086 constituting a recovery rate of 95.35 per cent while the national recovery rate was 94.50 per cent.

The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 24,301, the bulletin said.

In a span of 24 hours, 1,29,896 samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,420 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, 1, 62,57,268 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state till date since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.(UNI)
