Telangana: Rs 500 crores released for the govt’s flagship Dalit Bandhu scheme

Hyderabad, Aug 26:The Telangana Government Today  released Rs 500 crores for the implementation of the pilot project of the Dalit Bandhu scheme in the poll-nound Huzurabad Assembly constituency.

The Scheduled Castes Corporation has transferred the amount to the Karimnagar district collector.

With the latest release, the promised Rs 2,000 crores for the scheme has been completed. The government has released Rs 1,500 crores earlier in phases

It may be recalled that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had announced that Rs 2,000 crores would be spent for the implementation of the pilot project in the Assembly constituency.

Under the scheme, 20,000 Dalit families in the constituency will be paid Rs 10 lakhs each to start business ventures of their choice.(UNI)
