Telangana reports 623 Covid-19 cases, three deaths
Hyderabad, Jul 29 : Telangana reported 623 new Covid-19 cases and 3 deaths Today even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 9,188.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year stands at 6,43,716 and the death toll stands at 3,796, state Medical and Health Department said in a bulletin here.
The number of active containment zones in the state stood at 33 and Apart from two zones in Hyderabad, seven containment zones in Jagtial and six in Karimnagar.
A total of 746 patients were declared recovered on Thursday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,30,732.
The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58 percent against the national average of 1.3 per cent while the recovery rate stood at 97.98 per cent against the national average of 97.35 per cent, the bulletin said.
On Thursday, 1,11,947 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus and with this, Telangana has now completed testing 2.17 crore samples and has reached 5.85 lakh samples testing per million population.
Out of the total new virus recorded on Thursday, GHMC recorded 70 new cases while neighbouring Medchal Malkajigiri recorded 29 ,Rangareddy recorded 33 and Sangareddy recorded 5 cases. Outside of Hyderabad its outskirts, highest number of 68 new cases registered in Karimnagar followed by Warangala Urban ( 67), Khammam (51), Peddapalli (43) and Nalgonda (38).(UNI)
