Telangana reports 605 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths
Hyderabad, Jul 4: Telangana’s second wave of infection further slowed down as the state added only 605 new COVID-19 cases until 1750 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload in the state to 6,26,690 till date.
COVID-19 deaths rose to 3,691 after 7 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here on Sunday.
A total of 1,088 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,11,035 constituting a recovery rate of 97.50 per cent as against the national recovery rate was 97.07 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 11,964, the bulletin said.
As many as 71,800 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 813 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 1,90,66,401 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.(UNI)
