Telangana reports 3,877 new Covid-19 cases, two fatalities
Hyderabad, Jan 28 :Telangana state reported 3,877 new Covid-19 cases until 1730 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 7,54,976 till date. Covid-19 deaths surged to 4,083 after two patients succumbed to the deadly virus translating a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight. A total of 2,981 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide taking the overall recoveries thus far to 7,10,476 constituting a recovery rate of 94.11 per cent. The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 40,414, the bulletin said. As many as 1,01,812 samples were tested in the state out of which the results of 4,006swab samples are awaited. Cumulatively, 3,18,77,830 Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said. Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remained the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 1189 new cases followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (348) and Rangareddy (241), Hanumakonda (140), Nalgonda (133), Yadadri Bhongiri (119), Bhadradri Kothagudem (116), Khammam (112), Peddapalli (110), Nizamabad (107) and Mancherial (104).
