Hyderabad, May 21 : As many as 3,464 new COVID-19 cases reported in Telangana until 1730 hours Today to take the case count in the state to 5,47,727 so far.

With the death of 25 patients in the last 24 hours, the toll in the state due to the pandemic now stands at 3,085 translating a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.1 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.

As many as 4801 people have recuperated from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 5,00,247 constituting a recovery rate of 91.33 per cent while the national average was 87.2 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 44,395, the bulletin said.

A total of 65997 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2227 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, 1,44,02,251 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far, the bulletin said.(UNI)
