Telangana reports 258 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Hyderabad, Sep 22 : Telangana reported 258 fresh Coronavirus cases Today, taking the state’s COVID tally to 6,64,164 so far.

After one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the toll due to COVID-19 rose to 3,908 till date translating case fatality rate of 0,58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.

As many as 249 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 6,55,310 constituting a recovery rate of 98.66 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.74 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 4,946, the bulletin said.

In all, 55,419 samples were tested on Wednesday in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1681 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, more than 2,60,02,886 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the districts, by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 69 fresh coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, followed, Karimnagar (25), Rangareddy (21), Khammam (15), Medchal Malkajgiri (13), Nalgonda (12) and Warangal Urban (12).

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
