Telangana reports 220 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Hyderabad, Sep 28 :Telangana reported 220 fresh Coronavirus cases until 1730 hours on today, taking the COVID tally in the state to 6,65,504.

After one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the toll due to COVID-19 rose to 3,915 till date translating the case fatality rate of 0.58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here on Tuesday night.

As many as 255 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 6,57,040 constituting a recovery rate of 98.72 per cent while the national recovery rate was 97.78 per cent.

Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 4,549, the bulletin added.

In all, 44,200 samples were tested on Tuesday in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 1,492 swab samples are awaited.

Cumulatively, more than 2,62,80,662 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among the districts, by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 80 fresh coronavirus cases as of Tuesday, followed by Karimnagar (21), Khammam (13), Medical Malkangiri & Nalgonda (12).

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
