Telangana reports 116 fresh COVID-19 cases until Sunday night
Hyderabad, Mar 1 :With a daily increase of 116 Coronavirus cases, Telangana’s cumulative COVID-19 caseload has risen to 2,98,923 till date.
The state did not report any fresh fatality due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and the death toll so far remained at 1,634 translating a case fatality rate of 0.54 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here today.
As many as 165 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide in the last 24 hours pushing the overall recoveries in the state as of Sunday to 2,95,387 constituting a recovery rate of 98.81 per cent while the National recovery rate was 97.1 per cent.
The active cases in the state currently stand at 1,902 including 804 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
About 20,375 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 276 swab samples are awaited.
More than 87.21 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remained the chief contributor of the infection by reporting 26 new Coronavirus cases followed by Medchal Malkajigiri and Rangareddy districts 11 each.
The remaining fresh COVID-19 cases were reported by other districts, the bulletin added. (UNI)
